How much does a dog walker cost in Australia?
Dog walkers across Australia set their own prices on BamChi, usually by the hour, and often with a discount for a second dog. What you pay depends on three things: how long the walk is, whether it's solo or in a small group, and how far the walker travels to you. Prices differ by city and by suburb, so the live figures below are the honest starting point.

What changes the price
Group walks are cheaper per dog; solo walks cost more and suit reactive or older dogs. Walkers who come to you fold travel into the hourly rate, so inner suburbs of Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth with more walkers tend to be more competitive than outer or regional areas. On BamChi you'll also see a 5% service fee at checkout, and every price is shown before you request.
How booking works
Pick a walker, choose how many hours (whole hours, or half-hours if they allow them) and send a request. Your card is held for the total, not charged. The walker has 48 hours to accept; only then are you charged. If they can't take it, the hold is released and you pay nothing.
Booking the same walk every week
Tick "Repeat this booking" on the payment screen to put a walk on a weekly schedule. Each visit is charged at the walker's free-cancellation boundary, never earlier, and you can skip or pause visits from the series.
